With Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz ousted from the party’s convention due to the email scandal, the party turned to its secretary (and defender) to call the Philadelphia convention to order. That would be Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
After 4 p.m. Monday, SRB energetically gaveled in the convention. She almost forgot the gavel part, but was reminded before leaving the stage. Here’s the video from Mashable News:

Afterward, Rawlings-Blake pointed out on Twitter that she was wearing a dress by a local designer:
