Cockeysville’s Reid Wiseman, an astronaut who recently began orbiting the Earth aboard the International Space Station has got to be outer space’s (and the planet’s) best PR guy. Wiseman has been micro-blogging his exploits on Twitter, as @astro_reid. And his combination of childlike enthusiasm and mind-blowing snapshots has made him something of an Internet celebrity, earning him thousands of new Twitter followers. It probably hasn’t been a bad thing for the space program either.

Here are a few of his tweets:

Just watched a sunset from the Cupola with a crazy thunderstorm. Speechless. Feeling good, but easily disoriented in the huge #ISS.

Trying to catch Perth at sunset, got these clouds instead. I’ll take it. pic.twitter.com/kQ3rPEbAPp — Reid Wiseman (@astro_reid) May 31, 2014

Gorgeous glacial flows near Straits of Magellan. I was there in ’08. pic.twitter.com/uxM1MqW0pY — Reid Wiseman (@astro_reid) June 1, 2014

Goodnight from space. Our planet is almost all ocean and so pretty. pic.twitter.com/b19ktw3gMM — Reid Wiseman (@astro_reid) June 1, 2014
