In a season full of untimely injuries, the Orioles received more troubling news when infielder Tim Beckhamโs left groin injury turned out to be more serious than originally thought. He may soon undergo surgery.
Beckham was placed on the 10-day disabled list April 25, and if he undergoes surgery, he would likely miss six or seven weeks.
With Beckham, second baseman Jonathan Schoop (oblique) and designated hitter Mark Trumbo (quad) still out, the undermanned Orioles saw their record fall to 6-18 after an 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays April 25.
