Fresh off of XFest, a comedy festival highlighting women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming performers, the Baltimore Improv Group is opening its stage for a night of “femme-power comedy.”

Tonight’s show, “Our Time,” promises two never-before-seen improv teams “showcasing the greatness of women and non-binary improvisers in our community.” As with all of the Baltimore Improv Group’s shows in June and July, tonight is free of charge. When the deal first started last month, managing director Terry Withers told Baltimore Fishbowl the message here is, “Hey the theater that we’re creating is not about the bottom line. It’s about creating art with everyday people in Baltimore.”

It proves here to be an inclusive vision of the city, too. You won’t find a better deal than that.

8 p.m., The BIG Theater, 1727 N. Charles St., (888) 745-8393, bigimprov.org.
