With an extra hour of sleep under our belts, it’s time to enjoy the fall air this weekend. Festivals celebrate the homes of Highlandtown, the wings of Fells Point and the harvest. Plus, Brilliant Baltimore continues, bringing a special chance to dance in an underpass.
Friday, Nov. 8
Light City: through Nov. 10 at Inner Harbor. The festival of light, music and innovation returns with installations, a drone light show, music and more. It’s part of Brilliant Baltimore.
“Space Kümité”: Nov. 8-9 at Peabody Heights Brewery. The Baltimore Rock Opera Society presents an original production, “a live event that combines theater, music, audience participation, the spirit of professional wrestling and the flavor of ’80s action and sci-fi movies.”
The Maryland Irish Festival: Nov. 8-10 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. Enjoy a weekend of cultural exhibits and workshops, dancing, music, food and beer to celebrate Irish culture.
Starrcast IV: Nov. 8-10 at various locations. The wrestling convention brings wrestling legends such as Sting, Cody Rhodes and Ron Simmons to town, highlighted by All Elite Wrestling’s Full Gear at Royal Farms Arena on Saturday.
Majora’s Masquerade: Video Game Villians: 7-10 p.m. at Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra and Choir. The ball/benefit features cosplay, dancing and cabaret-style entertainment to benefit the Baltimore Gamer Symphony.
400 Years of African Presence in America: 7:30 p.m. at Morgan State’s Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Center. Dr. Shirley Basfield directs a musical production featuring dance, spoken word and music, hosted by Maria Broom.
Music on the Square: 7:30 p.m. at Church on the Square. The Canton series welcomes Amadou Kouyate, a specialist on the 21 string-kora and dejembe of West Africa.
Brian Posehn: Friday and Saturday at Magooby’s Joke House. The nasally voiced comic known for acting roles in “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Sarah Silverman Program” and “Mr. Show” performs stand-up.
Stevie Nicks’ White Wing Dove: 8 p.m. at Metro Gallery. A flock of Baltimore musicians join together to recreate the chanteuse’s 1981 Bella Donna tour.
Lit City Baltimore: 8-11 p.m. at 400 St. Paul St. The dance party in the light tunnel on St. Paul returns with local food, open bar, photo booths and more.
Screaming Females: 8 p.m. at Rituals. The New Jersey rock band stops in Station North, headlining a bill that includes DUSK and Oda Red.
“Just Let the Dead In: Closing Ritual”: 8 p.m. at Waller Gallery. Saida Agostini reads from her first manuscript and honors black and brown women who fought for liberation.
The All R&B Party: 9 p.m. at Annex Lounge. DJ Shaq and Dir Ty offer a chance to sing the hits with friends.
A Night Supporting BARCS: 4-9 p.m. at Suspended Brewing Company. The brewery, food pop-up Masarap and Sweetest Fern’s art pop-up raises money for the animal rescue shelter in Pigtown.
Cliterature: Nov. 8 and 9 at Baltimore Theatre Project. The Charm City Kitty Club premieres a queer cabaret with five performers.
Saturday, Nov. 9
Catacombs, 100-Year Vendors and History at Lexington Market: 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Market. Baltimore Heritage offers a tour of the city’s famed underground vaults and stops at longtime vendors such as Faidley’s, Berger’s and Konstant’s Candy.
Harvest Festival: noon-5 p.m. at R. House. The festival features a full day of activities in Remington, including pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and plenty of seasonal drinks.
All Things Apple: noon-5 p.m. at Union Collective. The apple festival pulls together all the spots at the Medfield maker haven, from booze to hot cider to an apple-themed climb.
November Beer Release: noon-5 p.m. at Oliver Brewing Company. The Northeast Baltimore brewery releases five beers for fall.
5th Annual The Mighty Pint Homebrew Competition: noon-4 p.m. at WTMD. Sample beers from more than 30 local homebrewers and enjoy tunes from Cara Kelly & the Tell Tale and Alexander Peters & the Roosters.
Baltimore Bacon Fest: 1-5 p.m. at Power Plant Live! Everything’s better with bacon, including the Inner Harbor’s party spot. Grab Bloody Marys, brunch and merch, all with bacon. Plus, a Kevin Bacon dance-off.
Fells Point Wing Fling: 1-5 p.m. at Fells Point Main Street. Get a tour of 15 Fells Point establishments slinging wings.
Highlandtown Basement Bar Tour: 2-6 p.m. in Highlandtown. Take a tour of the homes and club basements that make up the Southeast Baltimore neighborhood.
Fall Fling & Golden Edition Release: 3-11 p.m. at Old Line Spirits. The fall party goes down easier with the release of the American Single Malt Whiskey.
Maryland Art Place Fall 2019 Benefit: 7 p.m. at Maryland Art Place. The event doubles as a benefit and the Second Tri-Annual Maryland State Artist Registry Juried Exhibition. This year’s theme: The Great Gatsby.
Full Gear: 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena. The recently formed All Elite Wrestling brings its latest Pay Per View to downtown, boasting matches with Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and others.
Black Violin: 8 p.m. at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The classically-inspired hip-hop duo comes to Baltimore.
Patton Oswalt: 8 p.m. at the Modell Lyric. The stand-up comedian and actor makes a stop in Baltimore.
Chouk Bwa: 8 p.m. at Creative Alliance. The Haitian roots music group heads to Highlandtown.
Girls Rule! Dance Party: 9:30-1:45 a.m. at Ottobar. PARTiCOL spins the female-fronted hits upstairs.
Sunday, Nov. 10
Art to Dine For: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 321 West Madison: The brunch at Artstar Custom Paintworks supports the free community programs at Creative Alliance.
Furtastic Ink Party Fundraiser: noon-6 p.m. at Read Street Tattoo Parlour. The tattoo and piercing event benefits the Baltimore Humane Society.
Ravens Watch Party/Low-Country Shrimp Boil: 1 p.m. at Monument City Brewing. With the birds taking on the Bengals, Delmarva Boil Company provides shrimp and all the fixins.
Not a Film Fest: Anticolonial Conversations in Baltimore: 1:30 p.m. at Creative Alliance. The event screens “Las Sandinistas” (Nicaragua) and “Naila and the Uprising” (occupied Palestine). Conversation to follow.
Market Center Trash Bash: 2 p.m. at Lexington Market. Everyman Theatre takes it to the streets for an event urging everyone to “pitch in and party.”
Poe House Presents: 2 p.m. at Edgar Allan Poe House. The series features authors reading from Poe’s work features Rissa Miller reading “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
Emmanuel Ax performs Brahms: 3 p.m. at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The pianist performs the famed composer’s Piano Symphony No. 2.
Todrick Hall: 7:30 p.m. at Baltimore Soundstage. The Broadway star and YouTuber brings the “Haus Party World Tour” to downtown.
