Tony Lukeโ€™s, an acclaimed spot for Philadelphiaโ€™s signature cheesesteak sandwich, is coming to Baltimore in February.

The self-proclaimed โ€œReal Taste of South Phillyโ€ is opening a location โ€œlate next monthโ€ in the Horseshoe Casinoโ€™s Baltimore Marketplace, a collection of food stalls on the first floor, the casino announced today.

As founder Tony โ€œLukeโ€ Lucidonio Jr. said in a statement, the eatery will be serving up a lot more than its take on the City of Brotherly Loveโ€™s favorite sub, which has been featured on TV shows such as โ€œDiner: Impossible,โ€ โ€œMan v. Foodโ€ and โ€œFood Wars.โ€

โ€œMost people know us for our world-famous cheesesteaks, but weโ€™re more than just a typical Philly cheesesteak joint,โ€ said Lucidonio Jr., who called Baltimore a โ€œgreat town.โ€ โ€œWeโ€™re also home to a host of specialty favorites that range from roast pork Italian to amazing burgers and more.โ€

Some other options, per an online menu: the Chicken Cutlet Italian and The Uncle Mike, a vegetarian friendly sandwich with sautรฉed broccoli, sautรฉed spinach, sweet peppers, fried onions and marinara sauce.

According to the release, Tony Lukeโ€™s sources its ribeye steak from cattle farms in the Midwest and its vegetable toppings from South New Jersey.

The restaurant has made a serious expansion push in the last year. Last year, Eater reported, the chain announced plans for seven locations in the greater New York City area.

In addition to the New York locations and eight in and around Philadelphia, Tony Lukeโ€™s also operates locations in New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and Ocean City, Maryland.

The casino said todayโ€™s news is part of a larger revamp of the marketplace area, plans that include new furniture and a new layout. Horseshoe officials said they would be announcing another food concept in the coming weeks.

  1. My experience was awful my boyfriend wanted a good sub we payed $50.00 for two sub combo the lady didn’t understand how she rang up the combos think she needed more training and it took way to long I tipped her cuz I felt sorry for her. Train your employees better she was clearly confused and no manager never came and it never took so long to take the order in my life. He tried to explain why two sub combos came to $50.00 one had extra meat. I wanted no pickles and my boyfriend wanted no tomatoes it was tooooo much pepper on it was a pepper sub it was awful but I was starving my mouth burned. I will never ever come back. They charged to much employee’s are not trained properly an our cashier had no support for messing the orders up and was extremely confused.
