Associated Black Charities (ABC) is pleased to announce the second session of their online Equity First Speakers Series, in partnership with Comcast. Equity First consists of interviews with key leaders, from Baltimore and across the nation, who recognize that sustainable change for people of color will only come when structural and institutional barriers are replaced with equitable policies, practices and institutions. Invited speakers will be those who have put equity first in their careers and their passions. At the time of this release the series’ sponsors, in addition to Comcast, included Under Armour Foundation, Bank of America, Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, Wells Fargo, and Afro News.
ABC’s next session of Equity First on September 23rd will feature Michele Fuller – CEO, President, and Founder of Minerva Global Business Solutions. In a one-on-one interview with Diane Bell-McKoy of ABC, Ms. Fuller will share her first-hand experience with the unique obstacles and challenges confronted by Black women in Corporate America. The evening’s conversation will provide an empowering toolkit for other professionals who are striving to build an equity-centered career in a corporate world influenced by structural racism, micro-aggressions, and implicit biases.
Michele Fuller is the President/CEO of Minerva Global Business Solutions, a Maryland-based sales coaching business that she launched in 2020. She also is a Senior Director/Wine Ambassador for Boisset Collection, a Napa, California-based wine company with 26 wineries and 200+ wines. Michele joined the company’s wine ambassador program in June 2020 and she received the 2020 Rising Star Award for her stellar performance after only 7 months of working in the wine industry. Prior to joining Boisset, Michele spent 25+ years working in global and national account sales and marketing management roles at Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola North America, and Danone Group, a Paris, France based consumer goods company. During her corporate career, she negotiated $150M+ in business contracts in key food & beverage, retail, and travel channels. She was recognized by her clients and employers with multiple awards for outstanding business partnerships, developing innovative business solutions and for her business development success. She is a Hartford, Connecticut native and a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. and Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga., where she earned a B.A. in Journalism and an M.B.A. in Marketing, respectively.
Michele “is honored to be featured” in ABC’s upcoming session, and firmly believes that she is “the product of courageous black women who forged a path for me.” She and Diane Bell McKoy are excited to share an open, warm, and informative conversation about how to move up in the corporate world without sacrificing one’s true self.
