Who needs Fashion Week in Paris? Come to Harbor East where Baltimore’s 11th annual FashionEASTa returns on June 1, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be shopping, music, food, and entertainment sponsored by Baltimore Magazine.
The huge fashion event will support Art with a Heart, a nonprofit in Hampden dedicated to enriching the lives of people in need through visual art. The organization brings art classes to children, youth, and adults in schools, shelters, group homes, community centers, permanent housing facilities, and many more of Baltimore’s under-resourced communities. It offers as many as 14,000 classes per year, and since its inception in March 2000 has added programs in workforce development, youth leadership, community art, and more.
FashionEASTa takes place across the 800 block of Aliceanna Street (between South President and South Exeter streets). YANI will perform from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to start off the party and the restaurants of Harbor East will serve up cocktails, wine, beer, and light bites along the street. Participating restaurants include Baja Tap, Bambao, BIN 604 Wine + Spirits, Kneads Bakeshop & Café, James Joyce, Loch Bar, Lebanese Taverna, Maximón, and The Oceanaire Seafood Room.
At 2:30 p.m. the runway show begins, hosted by Tim “Chyno” Chin, host of the Emmy-nominated show “Plate it, Baltimore!”. The FashionEASTa Fashion Show will see more than 80 models walking the runway showing off women’s and men’s apparel and accessories. The styles will include cocktail attire, summer trends, athleisure, and more, all direct from Harbor East retailers and available for purchase immediately after the show.
“From on-trend to classic-cool, boho to buttoned-up, and glam to athleisure, FashionEASTa consistently delivers a sartorial power punch,” reads the FashionEASTa website. “The 2024 show will feature the newest summer looks from your favorite Harbor East retailers.”
Participating brands include Allen Edmonds, Anthropologie, Bonobos, Charm City Run, Free People, J.Crew, Lululemon, Sassanova and South Moon Under. Sephora will provide the makeup, and Cultivate Hair Company will style the models’ hair. Throughout the day, Harbor East retailers will hold exclusive sales and specials for FashionEASTa’s attendees, including discounts, gifts, in-store events, and more.
FashionEASTa is free and open to the public, though seating for the Fashion Show is reserved for VIP ticket holders. VIP tickets cost $50 and include reserved runway seating (standing room only for non-ticketed guests), two food & two drink vouchers good for street-side offerings from 12-5 p.m., an exclusive FashionEASTa shopping tote and event parking in Harbor East. VIP tickets also entitle the holders to attend the VIP After Party hosted at Maximón.
All tickets must be purchased in advance. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Art with a Heart. To purchase tickets, click this link.
