After some stormy weather this week, the clouds are parting this weekend for some sunny events in Baltimore.
This weekend marks the beginning of LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and Baltimore is kicking it off in style. Community festivals — both new and old — will also take place.

Asia North Closing Event, Friday, May 31, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Motor House. Mark the end of the sixth annual Asia North Exhibition and Festival, including this year’s visual exhibit, “Love Letters to Baltimore and the DMV.” The closing event will feature food, drinks, and performances. Bike Party, Friday, May 31, 7 p.m., St. Mary’s Park. Whether you have longtime roots in the Baltimore bicycling community or you have a newfound interest that just blossomed this season, check out the Baltimore Bike Party’s May Flowers Ride.
Music Under the Dome, Friday, May 31, doors open 7 p.m., showtimes at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Listen to a summer mixtape of all your favorite 90s hits and view specially curated images under the dome of the science center’s planetarium. This event is for attendees age 21 and older.
Bruch Violin Concerto, Friday, May 31, 8 p.m. Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 with Jonathan Carney.
Italian Festival, Friday, May 31, through Sunday, June 2, 227 S. Exeter St. Enjoy Italian foods and desserts, music and other performances, and activities for the whole family at the Italian Festival in Little Italy.
Baltimore 10-Miler, Saturday, June 1, 7 a.m., Druid Hill Park. Run in the Baltimore 10-Miler in Druid Hill Park (just outside the Maryland Zoo). There will be a post-race party to celebrate all who participate.
Hampden Highlights, Saturday, June 1, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., West 36th Street from Falls Road to Chestnut Avenue. Watch toilet bowl races, compete in a bao-eating contest, enjoy music and more at the inaugural Hampden Highlights festival.
FashionEASTa, Saturday, June 1, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., 650 S. Exeter St. See the latest fashions from local designers as models walk the runway in Harbor East. Read more in this Baltimore Fishbowl article.
Unmatched Athlete Pride Celebration, Saturday, June 1, 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Union Collective. The nonprofit Unmatched Athlete, which works with LGBTQ+ youth and allies, will hold a Pride event this Saturday in partnership with Union Collective. There will be climbing for youth from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and open mic from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and drag performances from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Zoo Snooze, Saturday, June 1, 5:30 p.m. (overnight until 9:30 a.m. Sunday), Maryland Zoo. During this adults-only event, get a group of friends together to sleep overnight at the Maryland Zoo. Tickets include dinner, drinks, breakfast, games, activities and admission to the zoo on Sunday.
Melanie Martinez, Saturday, June 1, doors open 6 p.m., event begins 7 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. After competing on season 3 of “The Voice,” pop singer Melanie Martinez rose to fame with her debut studio album, “Cry Baby,” which became certified double platinum. She released her third and most recent album, “Portals,” in 2023. Martinez will perform in Baltimore as part of her The Trilogy Tour.
Mortified: Pride Edition, Saturday, June 1, 6:30 p.m., Creative Alliance. Out of the closet and onto the stage, a group of brave souls will share their embarrassing teenage diary entries, love letters, and more to an audience at the Creative Alliance in this LGBTQ+ Pride edition of the “Mortified” show.
