The Maryland Energy Administration’s SolarAPP+ Implementation Grant Program, a federally funded, $3.9 million fiscal 2025 offering that helps pay the costs associated with implementing the free-to-use SolarAPP + solar permitting software, is underway.
It features standardized plan review software that can run compliance checks and process building permit approvals for eligible rooftop solar systems. The program provides financial assistance to local governments for implementation costs, including staff training, software integration and contractual support.
