International trade policy pushed by President Donald Trump is directly affecting the cost of athletic equipment and clothing on store shelves in Baltimore.
As global tariffs fluctuate , everyday consumers โ from fans of the Ravens to college athletes โ are feeling the effects when they shop for clothing and gear.
This video shows how increased tariffs on foreign-made goods ripple through a supply chain.
Using Balitmore Sports and Novelty and Herman’s Discount as examples, the video shows how small businesses cannot absorb the wholesale price increases caused by tariffs, and must pass them on to consumer.
Economic analysts featured in the video argue that while tariffs are intended to protect domestic production, they can sometimes slow consumer demand and complicate budgeting for sports fans.
But, as the video shows, if your team is winning, price may be no object.
