This is turning out to be a boon year for fireflies.
“We’re seeing an increase in fireflies in particular this year as compared to the last few years, which is very exciting,” said Ash Miller, an environmental educator at the Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills.
He said this summer’s weather has hit their sweet spot.
