Set on 72 scenic acres in Baltimore, The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland is home to more than 630 boys, from Pre-K through grade 12. The school offers the Baltimore area’s only seven-day boarding program for boys, welcoming students from across the country and around the world.
The idyllic campus stretches across both the north and south sides of Lake Avenue, giving students room to learn, play and explore. Every division has its own academic building and library, creating age- appropriate spaces designed specifically for boys. The school’s newest program, Little Lakers Pre-K, provides 4-year-old boys an engaging, play-based environment where curiosity, confidence and a love of learning take root from day one. Lower School students also enjoy ample outdoor playground space that includes a Creativity Corner, a hands-on makerspace encouraging imagination, problem-solving and discovery.
Outdoor spaces are just as important as classrooms. Boys’ Latin features two turf athletic fields for year-round play, tennis courts, a baseball field and additional practice fields that support students of all ages and athletic interests.
Innovation is woven throughout campus. The school’s state-of- the-art robotics lab serves as the home of the Lumberjack Robotics team, while the flexible black box theater provides an inspiring venue for performances, rehearsals and creative expression.
In 2020, Boys’ Latin expanded its campus with the purchase of 28 neighboring acres.
The property is now home to a modern residential life community for boarding students and provides additional space for outdoor education, environmental science, leadership development and recreation.
In 2024, the Upper School campus underwent extensive renovations made possible by the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s history. Highlights include Gore Hall, a three-story academic building featuring state-of-the-art science labs, collaborative learning spaces and a vibrant art studio. The former library was reimagined as a dynamic learning commons, while the Gelston Athletic Center was renovated with an expanded fitness center, redesigned locker rooms and athletic training facilities, updated meeting spaces and refreshed gathering areas for students, families and alumni.
At Boys’ Latin, every classroom, field, studio and gathering space is intentionally designed to help boys discover their passions and interests, challenge themselves academically, and ultimately become their best selves.
