A new Barnes & Noble bookstore is coming to Timonium.
The company will open a shop at the newly renovated Lutherville Station shopping center at 130 W. Ridgely Road. It will take over the space previously occupied by RH Outlet, next to Old Navy. The space was also once home to a Borders bookstore.
The more than 17,500-square-foot location will open for business Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. It will offer story time events hosted by the costume character Corduroy and exclusive grand opening deals.
“We could not be more pleased to make our return to this wonderful community,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “We have long enjoyed the support of readers in the Towson area and are delighted to have a new home nearby in Timonium. We look forward to welcoming old friends and new customers alike.”
With the Timonium location, Barnes & Noble will mark its return to central Baltimore County nearly a decade after the company closed its popular store down the road, near the Towson Circle, in 2017.
“For me, this is about more than opening another Barnes & Noble,” said store manager Sheldon Kulbicki. “I remember what it was like to shop at the Towson store, and I know how much people have missed having a Barnes & Noble here. Getting the opportunity to help bring it back and create new memories for customers is what makes this opening so exciting.”
The Timonium bookstore will sell books, toys, games, vinyl, DVDs, magazines, greeting cards, stationery, and more. It will also have a Barnes & Noble Café.
After 15 years of declining store numbers, Barnes & Noble is now opening new stores, including the 60 stores the company says it will have opened in 2026. The company has 735 bookstores, up from the fewer than 600 stores it had in 2023.
