Lecture: Adorning the American Landscape: Garden Ornament from 1740 โ 1940
Join Honorary Chair and leading antique expert Barbara Israel as she presents a colorful visual exploration of the history of the garden ornament, an essential but little-examined feature of garden history in America. She will illustrate the development of this functional and fanciful form of art, tracing it from the Victorian era through the first half of the twentieth century. She will draw examples from her book, Antique Garden Ornament: Two Centuries of American Taste. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture.
