Roland Park Firehouse

Jamar Marvin Simmons, 29, a firefighter/paramedic out of a firehouse in Roland Park,  has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of a recent arrest on charges of running an online prostitution ring and an unlicensed after-hours club in a city warehouse. Fewer than two years ago he received probation in Baltimore County in a similar sex trafficking case.

Crime reporter Justin Fenton reports in the Baltimore Sun that Simmons and another man, 33-year-old Franklin Coit, were charged Tuesday after the FBIโ€™s human-trafficking-prevention Safe Streets Task Force raided a converted warehouse in the 200 block of S. Pulaski St. as part of an investigation into a prostitution ring that had been operating โ€œover the past several years,โ€ according to police.

Authorities seized guns, drugs, a prostitution โ€œtally sheetsโ€ and ledgers, and several computers, laptops and flash drives. Also seized were a โ€œlarge amount of condoms โ€ฆ and sex aids,โ€ records show.
