Scapescape wasnโt around in 2014, but the DIY fest returns for its fourth edition this weekend to showcase some of the Baltimore City bands you havenโt heard of (yet).
Scapescapeโs name is a tongue-in-cheek take on the many -scapes that sprouted up as Artscape offshoots. The three-day festival is centered around the Station North Arts District, with shows in venues like The Crown, Windup Space, Metro Gallery and the outdoor Ynot Lot.
More than 80 bands are booked, with beloved Ed Schraderโs Music Beat, feminist hardcore heroes War on Women and TT the Artist among some of the favorites.
Organizer Andrew Phillips said hip-hop and Baltimore club also make up a good portion of the lineup, signifying a โreflection of a scene and a city thatโs grappling to redefine and diversify itself artistically.โ
