This is both a news item and traffic advisory: President Barack Obama will be in downtown Baltimore on Thursday night, Jan. 28.

Obama is slated to speak at a meeting of Democratic leaders in Congress. According to the White House, heโ€™ll speak at 7:10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Inner Harbor.

Last time Obama was in Baltimore, he stopped into Charmingtonโ€™s for a bite to eat and a chat with residents. But this political visit doesnโ€™t have much time to mingle with the people built in. He is set to depart the White House at 5:50 p.m., and arrive back at the South Lawn by 9 p.m., according to the official schedule. If traffic isnโ€™t too bad, there could be time for a coffee stop.
