The Chesapeake Bay usually doesnโ€™t freeze over, but this yearโ€™s cold has produced the most ice since the mid-1990s.

Fortunately for those of us that would rather think warm thoughts, thereโ€™s an office called the National Ice Center to keep track of these things. The Centerโ€™s Brian Jackson tells the Washington Post that the ice coverage is โ€œway above normal.โ€ With March around the corner, it wonโ€™t last long. Since boarding a boat wouldnโ€™t get anywhere, we trawled social media for some moments frozen in time.
