It seems hard to believe that there was a time in American history when women were unable to participate in our democracy. Women across the country earned the right to vote nearly 100 years ago, on August 18, 1920.

Next week, the Maryland Historical Society (MdHS), will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment with a free virtual program, “Unlocking the Exhibition: The Women in Forgotten Fight,” on Thursday, August 20 from 12-1 p.m.
