Hip-hop may be universal, but the lyrics often skew toward the older set. So a pair of Baltimore rap pros are looking to offer something that can kids can bounce along to, without the inevitable scarring.
According to Cool Progeny, emcee Jamaal โBlack Rootโ Collier and beat boxer Max Bent are set to debut Baby Beats on Thursday (July 30). The first performance is at the family-targeted time of 10:30 a.m.
Collier performed at a similar kidsโ hip-hop event called Boogie Babies event in DC, and 400 people came out. He tells Cool Progeny that he quickly realized Baltimoreโs options were lacking in that department.
โOur focus is on engaging all audiences to move, play, have fun be entertained and learn at the same time,โ he said.
