As many students have now returned to their classrooms, this Labor Day weekend offers a nice way to end Back to School Week.

Baltimore Comedy Fest, Wednesday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Sept. 2, various locations. Get ready to laugh your socks off at the 8th Annual Baltimore Comedy Fest. Professional comedians from around the U.S. are visiting Baltimore for this six-day laughter extravaganza.

Maryland State Fair, Thursday, Aug. 29, through Monday, Sept. 2, Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The Maryland State Fair continues for its second of three weekends. Watch bull riding and barrel racing; view demonstrations by glass blowers, blacksmiths, and other artists; get an adrenaline rush on carnival rides; and fill up on carnival food. Idlewylde EP Release Show, Friday, Aug. 30, doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m., Wax Atlas. Celebrate the release of Baltimore indie band Idlewylde’s EP “Sensible.” The event will feature Mike Pajamas, jrdn & the switchblades, and Unreliable Narrator.

Beachy Bike Party, Friday, Aug. 30, meet around 6:45 p.m. at St. Mary’s Park, ride at 7 p.m., after party around 9 p.m. Join fellow bicycling enthusiasts for a beach-themed ride through Baltimore.

Asia in a Bite Food Festival, Saturday, Aug. 31, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Rash Field Park. Taste foods from an array of vendors and learn about Asian cultures. The Asia in a Bite Food Festival is held on the last Saturday of every month from April through September. Carl Cornwell & Bob Butta, Saturday, Aug. 31, 7 p.m., An Die Musik. Saxophonist Carl Cornwell and Baltimore native pianist Bob Butta will perform together at An Die Musik. The duo performed together for more than 15 years as members of Project Natale.

What Would You Carry, Sunday, Sept. 1, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Art. Megary Sigler, Family Programs Educator at the Baltimore Museum of Art, will lead this workshop in which families will create a container for what is precious to them. The pieces are inspired by artist Dyani White Hawk’s (Sičáŋǧu Lakota) Carry pieces, which are on view in the John Waters Rotunda as part of the museum’s “Preoccupied: Indigenizing the Museum” initiative.
