Da-dum, da-dum, da-dum…

Hear that? It’s the sound of a shark-filled weekend approaching Baltimore. From shark science talks by leading experts, to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performing the music from the JAWS movie for the film’s 50th anniversary, there’s some-fin for everyone.

Plus, visit some other fun events like a frozen dessert festival, crab festival, and more.

WTMD First Thursday Festival, Thursday, July 10, 5:30 p.m., Canton Waterfront Park. WTMD’s First Thursday Festival series will continue in July with performances by Dan Deacon, LandisHarryLarry, and Eyas.

Sharks: a new ally in the fight against human disease, Thursday, July 10, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET). Join IMET’s Dr. Helen Dooley to discover how shark immune systems are inspiring next-gen medicine.

National Geographic Live: The Untold Story of Sharks, Thursday, July 10, 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Join Dr. Jess Cramp as she uncovers pioneering women in shark science, shares her own conservation efforts, and dives into the vibrant waters of the South Pacific.

Tyler, The Creator, Friday, July 11, doors open at 6 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Rapper and singer Tyler, The Creator will perform in Baltimore as part of his 2025 world tour leading up to his album CHROMAKOPIA, which will release Oct. 28.

Chesapeake Oyster Catchers Game, Friday, July 11, 7:05 p.m., Prince George’s Stadium. Okay, this one’s not quite Baltimore, but who hasn’t heard about the Baysox’s branding debacle surrounding their alternate team’s logo? (If you haven’t, read about it here.) They’ve really been great about it, and are using the embarrassing incident to raise funds for a great cause, Cervivor – a nonprofit supporting cervical cancer patients and their families. So wear teal and white, have a laugh, and support the Oyster Catchers (Baysox) and Cervivor in the most American of pasttimes – baseball!

The Big Show Opening & Big Party, Friday, July 11, reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., party starts at 8 p.m., Creative Alliance. Celebrate the opening of The BIG Show exhibition, featuring more than 150 artworks. The reception will be followed by a party with performance artist Jonathan Gilmore. The exhibition will be on view from July 11 through Aug. 16.

Bubble Days, Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13, noon to 4 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Bubble artist Casey Carle will present a pop-ular show. Attendees will also be able to mix a bubble solution, design a bubble wand, and experiment with different ways of making bubbles.

Meltdown Frozen Dessert Festival, Saturday, July 12, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. Cool off with some frozen treats and desserts at this free, family-friendly event, which will also include music, hula hooping, bubble blowing, painting, sidewalk chalking, an interactive magic show, and more.

Sunset Concert with Mambo Combo, Saturday, July 12, gates open at 4 p.m., music 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Star Bright Farm. Enjoy food from O’dells Food Truck and The Shooting Star Cafe, beverages from Boordy Vineyards and Diamondback Brewing, and live music from Mambo Combo as you watch the sun set over Star Bright Farm.

Crab Fest, Saturday, July 12, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., B&O Railroad Museum. If you love all things crab, this is the festival for you. Chefs will be serving up steamed crabs, crab tacos, pretzels, corn, and more.

JAWS in Concert, Saturday, July 12, 7:30 p.m., & Sunday, July 13, 3 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Relive the thrilling suspense of JAWS as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra plays the iconic score while the film as is projected on the big screen.

The Second Saturday S#!T Show feat. Jamar Taylor, Saturday, July 12, doors and happy hour 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Ottobar. Join host Mike Quindlen as he welcomes headliner Jamar Taylor; featured comedians Uncle John, Joe Richard Saunders, Sandhya Ganesh, and Nathan Scahill; and special guest Caitlin Austin.

World Snake Day, Sunday, July 13, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Irvine Nature Center. Celebrate World Snake Day with three captivating programs: a herp hike from 8-10 a.m., an animal presentation from 12-2 p.m., and animal art from 4-6 p.m. Tickets are required and include access to Irvine for the entire day.
