As winter holidays draw nearer, Baltimore is getting into the festive spirit with an array of fun events this weekend.

From an Edgar Allan Poe twist on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” to an orchestral concert with sing-a-longs and tap-dancing Santas, there’s a little something in everyone’s stocking.

Fell’s Point Cookie Crawl, Thursday, Dec. 19, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fell’s Point Main Street. Visit participating retailers and enjoy complimentary cookies during this 4th annual Cookie Crawl in Fell’s Point.

Winter Solstice Yoga, Thursday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. If you’ve got an exercise-related New Year’s resolution, why not start early? Take a beginner yoga class, including yoga sequences, deep breath work, and a short meditation. All fitness levels are welcome. Participants must complete a waiver to take part in the class. Attendees should bring a mat and water.

John Waters Christmas, Thursday, Dec. 19, 7 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Baltimore’s own John Waters will deliver a night of holiday cheer and chuckles during his Christmas-themed show.

Rock Orchestra by Candlelight, Thursday, Dec. 19, doors open at 7 p.m., event starts at 8 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Fourteen musicians will perform rock and metal music selections, illuminated by candlelight.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage, Friday, Dec. 20, 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Watch the classic animated television special come to life in this faithful stage adaptation as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts characters uncover the true meaning of Christmas. 

Baltimore’s Holiday Spectacular, Friday, Dec. 20, 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 21, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Pops conductor Stuart Chafetz returns to the BSO to conduct the annual Holiday Spectacular, which will feature special guest artists, audience sing-a-longs, and the ever-popular tap dancing Santas.

Snowy Days, Saturday, Dec. 21, and Sunday, Dec. 22, Maryland Science Center. Whether or not Maryland gets actual snow this winter, you can explore some cool arctic-themed activities at the science center.

Holiday Jazz Celebration, Saturday, Dec. 21, 6 p.m., Keystone Korner. Keyboardist and bandleader Marcus Johnson will perform a blend of jazz and R&B with Marcus and Friends.

Moon & Stars Holiday Show, Saturday, Dec. 21, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., An Die Musik. Hot Club of Baltimore will perform Moon & Stars, “a holiday show for everyone.”

Falalalonely Tour, Saturday, Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m., Creative Alliance. TikTok music trio T.3 will perform a mix of acapella and instrumentally supported songs as part of the group’s Falalalonely Tour.

Child’s Play Christmas Chaos, Saturday, Dec. 21, 8 p.m., doors at 7p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Featuring two original members from their 1983 lineup, Baltimore-based Child’s Play will stop by Baltimore Soundstage with special guests Cinder Road for a rockin’ night of chaos.

A Christmas Carol for Edgar Allan Poe, Saturday, Dec. 21, 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 22, 2 p.m., Fells Point Corner Theatre. What if “A Christmas Carol” was written about America’s greatest writer of horror and suspense? That’s the premise of this brand new script that will be presented as a staged reading, in workshop for full production of the show in 2025!
