Temperatures will creep into the 100s for the Baltimore region this weekend, so be sure to stay cool and safe if you’re heading outside.

As summer officially begins Thursday, there are plenty of events — both indoors and outdoors — to enjoy the new season.

Horror as Queer, Thursday, June 20, 6 p.m., Guilford Hall Brewery. The Profs & Pints series continues with a discussion of queerness in horror films, led by May Santiago, adjunct professor of film studies at George Mason University and producer of the podcast Horrorspiria.

Tim McGraw, Friday, June 21, doors open 5:30 p.m., event begins 7 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Country singer Tim McGraw will perform in Baltimore on his “Standing Room Only” tour.

Crocodile Fever, Friday, June 21, through Sunday, June 23, Strand Theater Company. If you missed the opening of “Crocodile Fever” last weekend, you still have some chances to see the production. Set in Northern Ireland in 1989, this black comedy centers on two sisters forced to confront their father’s legacy. “Crocodile Fever” runs through June 30.

Figures in Action Workshop, Saturday, June 22, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. Artist D.L. Tucker will lead a workshop on how to make 2D marionettes by using collage techniques, inspired by the body, mind and spirit. This workshop is designed for ages 10 and older.

Solstice Gala, Saturday, June 22, 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Celebrate the summer solstice at the science center’s 47th Annual Solstice Gala, featuring science demonstrations, music, food and drinks.

Django Festival Allstars, Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, Keystone Korner. Enjoy a performance the group Django Festival Allstars, who will bring the music of jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.

AFRAM, Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, Druid Hill Park. Baltimore will once again host AFRAM, one of the East Coast’s largest African American festivals. Enjoy music, art, food, and more from a variety of performers and vendors.

Pickleball For Paws, Sunday, June 23, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Coppermine Racquet & Fitness Club. Come out for a day of pickleball, with both non-competitive (8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) and competitive (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) open play. The event will support the Baltimore Humane Society.

Wellness in Wardrobe, Sunday, June 23, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., 1505 Eutaw Place. Bring a jacket to decorate with provided embellishments.
