Charm City is going green this weekend, with the first Baltimore performances of the “Wicked” touring production, a concert by the Irish singing ensemble Celtic Woman, and a rave inspired by Shrek.
Plus, enjoy some holiday events like a cookie crawl, the building of a big Lego menorah, and a festive cocktail workshop.
Check it all out in our weekend events roundup:
Wicked, Thursday, Dec. 18, through Sunday, Dec. 21, Hippodrome Theatre. Two witches — one green, one blonde, both initially loathsome to one another — begin as reluctant roommates who eventually forge a friendship that lasts for good. Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel (and recently adapted into a hit film starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande), the “Wicked” stage musical tells the story of what came before “The Wizard of Oz.” The production will be in Baltimore through Jan. 11.
Fell’s Point Cookie Crawl, Thursday, Dec. 18, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Fell’s Point Main Street. Shop at participating Fell’s Point businesses and enjoy complimentary cookies during the 5th annual Cookie Crawl in Fell’s Point.
Legos, Latkes and Lights, Thursday, Dec. 18, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC. Bring your appetite — and STEM skills — and join community members as they team up to building the world’s tallest Lego menorah. Tickets include a latke dinner and take home mini Lego menorah.
Celtic Woman, Thursday, Dec. 18, 7:30 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Celtic Woman’s Symphony Christmas Tour features the all-female ensemble’s favourite Yuletide songs: O Holy Night, Little Drummer Boy, Carol of the Bells, and more, along with Celtic Woman classics and some Irish tunes with a Christmas twist.
Merry Mixology, Friday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Maryland Zoo, Mansion House Porch. Bartenders will guide you through making a festive cocktail named The Clausmopolitan. Attendees can also enjoy a hot cocoa bar, take photos with animal ambassadors, paint candles and tote bags, decorate ornaments, participate in an ugly sweater contest, and bring ornaments from home to swap with fellow guests.
The Delta King’s Blues, Friday, Dec. 19 through Sunday, Dec. 21, 2640 Space. World premiere of the first full opera commissioned by IN Series, this “blues opera” tells the tale of guitar legend Robert Johnson and the deal he struck with the devil to learn the language of the blues. An immersive juke-joint experience with music by Damien Geter. Tickets available here.
Holiday Pops, Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21, 3 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Conductor Stuart Chafetz, the BSO, and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society return with this annual holiday tradition, made complete by the beloved tap-dancing Santas!
Shrek Rave: Shrek The Halls! Saturday, Dec. 20, 9 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Get out of your swamp and onto the dance floor for a Shrek-themed rave. 18+

I love the weekend lineup. This is very helpful and I look forward to seeing the weekly happenings. Thanks!
