This week marked the grand opening of The Ivy, the exclusive Mt. Vernon hotel with rooms ranging from $495 to $1,400 per night. (Or you can rent the whole place for $14,000!) Curious about what it looks like? Fortunately, we got some sneak peeks of the renovations and the final product.
The hotel will feature a tea room, spa, library, billiards room, and courtyard–but you won’t be able to just waltz in and order a pot of tea, alas; the hotel’s “public” areas are open to guests only, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
The good news for Baltimoreans who like fancy things, however, is that the restaurant will be open to regular old people like us. Magdalena, which is set to open mid-month, is already promising to be a culinary jewel of Baltimore. It’s also your only way to enjoy the pleasures of The Ivy’s beautiful walled gardens without shelling out for a room.
