Bullhead Pit Beef, voted the best food truck in Howard County last year by Howard Magazine, is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant at Cross Street Market, owners Caves Valley Partners and CANAdev announced today.
In addition to pit beef, Bullhead will serve pit turkey, pulled pork, pulled brisket and garlic fries. Per a release from CANAdev, the stall is expected to open before Opening Day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on March 26.
As Arsh Mirmiran, a partner with Caves Valley Partners, noted in a release, the market will soon cover all the Baltimore food groups: chicken boxes from Royal Farms, Berger cookies and crabs, crab cakes and rockfish from Atlas Restaurant Groupโs Watershed.
There will be also be local flavors like Taharka Brothers Ice Cream, Old Line Spirits and Baltimore brewed beers at the Cans Filling Station.
Thereโs only one stall left for rent in the revamped market, and Mirmiran teased that โthe proverbial โcherry on topโ of the sundaeโ will be announced in the spring.
Following an $8.5 million renovation of the market shed, long-time vendors Fenwickโs Choice Meats, Steveโs Lunch and The Sweet Shoppe have been joined by newcomers Annoulaโs Kitchen, Cans Filling Station, Ceremony Coffee, Gangster Vegan, Ono Poke, Phubs, Pizza di Joey, Rice Crook, Rooster and Hen, Royal Farms Chicken, Sobeachy, Southside Burger Bar and Taco Love Grill.
Atlas is on track to open the Watershed, which will include a rooftop crab deck, fresh seafood stall and raw bar, by the summer.
According to Bullheadโs site, the business had โaccidental beginnings,โ with owner Larry Jackson starting out with just a grill and a pickup truck. Jackson got a proper food truck by 2015, and earlier this year it was announced Bullhead would open a carry-out spot inside Columbiaโs Hysteria Brewing Co.
