"Santa Claus vs. the Devil" is one of the movies being screened at the SNF Parkway Theatre.

The SNF Parkway Theatre will kick off the holiday season with A Very Cinematic Holiday Weekend, a four-day series of festive films and free activities celebrating the spirit of the season on the big screen and in the community.

From Dec. 12 โ€“ Dec. 15, there will be screenings of holiday classics, international films, and cult favorites, alongside special activities such as nightly happy hours, themed trivia, an ugly sweater contest. The cinema series aims to appeal to all ages with its offerings. Saturdayโ€™s activities will take place nearby and on the same dates as the North Avenue Holiday Market.

At nightly happy hours, people can sample seasonal beverages, including Parkway Holiday Nog and signature spiked punch, before evening screenings.

On Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., guests are invited to arrive dressed in their 1950s finest for a special screening of โ€œCarol,โ€ Todd Haynesโ€™ acclaimed drama starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

On Saturday, Dec. 14 from 12:30 p.m. โ€“ 5:30 p.m., visitors can shop and sip at the North Avenue Holiday Market. This is a festive outdoor/indoor market with Baltimore-based artists, makers, local food and drink, pop-ups, and live performances.

Also on Saturday, at 7 p.m., there will be a โ€œTinsel & Trash Triviaโ€ event and an ugly sweater contest hosted by Mondo Baltimore in the Lounge. Following at 8 p.m., attendees can see a special screening of โ€œSanta Claus vs. the Devilโ€, introduced by Mondo Baltimoreโ€™s Dad Ghost and Frau Ankenstein.

    This autobiographical holiday classic follows two siblings navigating family life in early 1900s Sweden. Acclaimed as one of Bergmanโ€™s finest works, the film won four Academy Awards, including Best Foreign Picture.
  • โ€œThis Christmasโ€ (Preston Whitmore, 2007, USA, 120 min)
    The Whitfield family reunites for a holiday filled with surprises, conflicts, and the rediscovery of family bonds.
  • โ€œThe Nightmare Before Christmasโ€ (Henry Selick, 1993, USA, 76 min)
    This Tim Burton-produced stop-motion film explores what happens when Halloween meets Christmas, creating a visually iconic and universally beloved classic.
  • โ€œElfโ€ (Jon Favreau, 2003, USA, 90 min)
    This family-friendly favorite follows Buddy, a human raised as an elf, on his journey to New York City to reconnect with his father and save Christmas.
