The Federal Hill bar formerly known as Cowboys & Rednecks is holding its official reopening today as Wayward Bar + Kitchen, reports Baltimore magazine.The southern-inspired spot has been revamped with an upscale food menu and cocktail list under new management. “We wanted it to be a food destination, but also a fun place to hang out,” Wayward operating partner Andrew Dunlap told Baltimore.
That sounds about right. The online menu features hearty pub fare with gourmet touches. The flagship “Wayward Burger” comes on a brioche bun with whiskey-poached pear and is served with “house-cut rosemary-parmesan fries.” The southern vibe looks to be well intact, by the way. Fried green tomatoes, grits, and succotash all make appearances, typically in inventive combinations.
Wayward Bar + Kitchen is located at 1117 S. Charles Street.
