When we awakened to the violent crashes of this morning’s early rising thunderstorm, it sounded like the thunder was crashing right over the roof. In Ellicott City home, the lightning actually hit the house.
According to the Howard County Fire Department, the house in the 3000 block of Homeland Way caught fire, and eventually saw its roof collapse. None of the residents were injured, but one firefighter sustained minor injures. For its part, the home sustained about $250,000 worth of damage.
The Red Cross provided assistance to the family.
