By hosting fundraisers and donating proceeds, breweries were some of the most active locals to support Ellicott City following the summerโ€™s floods. Now, a beer is helping the area.

Flying Dog and Jailbreak teamed up on Watershed Moment, a new brew in which 100 percent of the proceeds will go to help Ellicott City. The beer is a Belgian IPA that uses a malt bill from Jaibreakโ€™s Poor Righteous IPA, yeast that is used in Flying Dogโ€™s Raging Bitch and hops from both beers.

Itโ€™ll be available in cans for a limited time around Baltimore and Howard County. The can depicts Ellicott Cityโ€™s clock, which was figured lost in the flood until a kayaker found it a couple days later.

Flying Dog CMO Ben Savage is from Ellicott City, and he said the flooding hit home.

โ€œThe beauty of craft beer is being able to be creative, nimble and spring to action for incredible projects like this,โ€ he said.
