Free Fall Baltimore, an annual celebration of the arts, will return Oct. 1 and run through the month with free events at galleries, venues and performance spaces across Baltimore City.

“Artistry and creativity are fundamental to what makes Charm City so special,” Mayor Brandon Scott said in a statement. “Baltimoreans create some of the finest art in the world, yet many aren’t exposed to it. Free Fall Baltimore opens the doors of art and culture to everyone. It affords people from Baltimore and beyond the opportunity to experience first-hand the world class creative community here in our city.”

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts (BOPA) funded more than 50 artists and arts organizations to put on virtual and in-person events throughout October, which will all be free and open to the public.

Each Thursday, starting Sept. 30, BOPA will send out a weekly roundup of the next week’s events.

People can also visit Free Fall Baltimore’s website for a full calendar of of October’s events.

Jocquelyn Downs, director of the Baltimore City Arts Council, said this year’s events will have something for everyone to enjoy.

“I’m so excited about the Free Fall lineup this year,” Downs said in a statement. “There’s a little bit of something for everybody to experience almost every day of the month. I’m also excited that this year, both individual artists and organizations were able to apply for this amazing opportunity. This fall is going to be awesome.”
