Exelon is already emblazoned on the top of the company’s new headquarters in Harbor Point, indicating Harbor Point is making progress. Beatty Development is set to start construction on a primarily residential building in the Fells Point-adjacent area.
On Tuesday, the developers and other dignitaries held a ceremonial groundbreaking for 1405 Point, located near Thames Street Wharf. The 17-story building is set to house 289 apartments. The apartments are set to have floor-to-ceiling windows for city and harbor views, as well as wood flooring. As with the many high-end complexes springing up recently, there’s just as much talk about amenities. Along with the usual fitness center and entertainment lounge, this one has a lounge and pool on the 11th floor, yoga room and a park.
Another 18,000 sq. ft. on the ground floor of the building will be designated for retail, but developers have yet to say what might be moving in.
The building is slated to open in late 2017, about a year after the Exelon building comes online.
