Howard County is now accepting applications from vendors to participate in GreenFest, the county’s largest celebration of Earth Day.

The event, which will take place on Saturday, April 9, aims to teach residents how to be better stewards of the environment.

Last year’s GreenFest featured native plant vendors, compost bin giveaways, and document shredding.

GreenFest is open to all vendors that highlight environmentally conscious products, services, activities, and opportunities.

“GreenFest is an opportunity for our community to come together, and be empowered to protect our environment, and support a sustainable future for our planet,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said in a statement.

“There are so many residents, businesses and organizations here in Howard County and our region who are innovating, advocating and paving the way for the critical changes necessary to preserve our world,” he said.

Each exhibit space includes a five-foot table and two chairs. Vendors pay $35 per table.

Vendors can also apply for a sponsorship for $100.

Those who apply after Feb. 11 will be charged an additional $10 late fee.

The county encourages vendors to apply now, as there will be a limit of 50 indoor vendors at this year’s event.

The event will take place at Howard Community College’s Burrill Galleria from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
