Baltimoreans know these scenarios well: Friends are in town on a Sunday night, and all the restaurants you want to take them to are closed. Or you stop by your favorite coffee shop on a Tuesday morning, desperate for a latte…only to find out it’s dark inside.
La Jetée, now open at Harbor Point, is here to change that.
From chef and restaurateur Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen, La Jetée pairs the culinary traditions of Southern France with the best produce, Chesapeake fish and shellfish, and other local ingredients our region has to offer.
And like a true French bistro, it’s open all day, seven days a week. You can grab a quick coffee and a croissant to go, sit and enjoy a glass of wine and a snack, or celebrate a special occasion with a three-course meal – all while gazing out over the harbor. It’s a restaurant that brings the ease and joy of dining at a Provence cafe table to Baltimore.

Breakfast
The La Jetée Matin coffee bar is open every day until 2:00 p.m., starting at 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on weekends. In addition to a full menu of espresso drinks, La Jetée Matin serves teas and rich hot chocolate. A rotating selection of house-made pastries – including croissants, kouign amann, and scones – is available daily.
You can also sit for a proper breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Opt for soft scrambled eggs with herbs or ‘pain perdu,’ a brioche French toast with mascarpone and roasted pear compote.

Lunch (and Brunch)
Weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., lunch at La Jetée includes a selection of baguette sandwiches, salads, and heartier entries. A special $15 in 15 minutes “express” option is available for busy working professionals, as is a two- or three-course prix fixe menu for a more leisurely experience.
On weekends, breakfast and lunch become brunch (naturally), served from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Try the sweet or savory buttermilk crepes: pear compote, salted caramel, and whipped cream, or lobster with bechamel and chervil. A classic croque madame comes with a sunny-side egg, country ham, and home fries.

Happy Hour
On weekdays, La Jetée’s bar area hosts happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Select local beers for $5, wines from Maryland’s own Old Westminster Winery for $10, and a variety of discounted snacks, like the signature crispy chickpea fries (panisse), rosemary olive oil flatbreads (pissaladière), and raw bar items including oysters, mussels, and clams.
Thursdays are the best day for a drink with coworkers or friends: Petite Fleur, an incredible local band that plays lively, Django Reinhardt-inspired jazz, performs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dinner
La Jetée is open for dinner seven nights a week, offering an easy weeknight meal or a feast to celebrate a special occasion.
For the former, grab a burger or mussels and fries at the bar. For an experience, order a striking grand shellfish plateau for the center of the table, followed by entrees like yellowfin tuna au poivre, steak frites, and lamb shank Provençal. Start the meal with an apéritif like a spritz or a pastis and then browse the expertly curated wine list featuring the best of France (and beyond). For dessert, there’s mousse au chocolate and profiteroles layered with Grand Marnier ice cream and smothered in warm chocolate sauce.
If it ends up being a late night out, don’t fret: La Jetée will be open with hot coffee in the morning.
