Once again, Baltimore is awash in the sound of crunching leaves, the smell of cinnamon and cloves, and the feel of autumn’s crisp morning air.

As we inch ever closer toward the end of the year, November brings a plethora of opportunities to connect with our beautiful city. From comedy shows, to lessons in science, to musical performances, there are tons of activities to enjoy.

Picturing Mobility: Black Tourism and Leisure During the Jim Crow Era, ongoing through Dec. 19, UMBCโ€™s Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery. Visit the exhibition curated by Elizabeth Patton, using artifacts from the first half of the 20th century to depict how Black Americans pursued leisure and travel in Jim Crow America with joy and as resistance. The Nevermore Haunt, weekends through Sunday, Nov. 2. Featuring a haunted house, an outdoor bar, music, sideshow performers, and wandering monsters, Nevermore Haunt is open 14 nights this October.

The Peculiar Patriot, ongoing through Nov. 9, Baltimore Center Stage. Self-proclaimed โ€œpeculiar patriotโ€ Betsy LaQuanda Ross regularly visits penitentiaries to raise morale. This one-act play is inspired by writer and director Liza Jessie Petersonโ€™s work with prison populations, including on Rikers Island.

ART, ongoing through Nov. 16, Everyman Theatre. In playwright Yasmina Rezaโ€™s โ€œART,โ€ characters find their friendship put to the test by questions about what constitutes art.

Hair, ongoing through Nov. 23, Vagabond Players. The rock musical โ€œHairโ€ tells the story of a group of long-haired navigating political activism, sexual revolution, and a fight against the Vietnam War draft. The production is recommended for mature audiences.

Week of Nov. 1 through Nov. 9

Family Fall Festival, Saturday, Nov. 1, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Star Bright Farm. Bring the family out to the farm for food, live music, seasonal shopping at the Barn Market, and activities including a straw bale maze, wagon rides, face painting, and farmyard animals.

STEM to Studio Opening Reception, Saturday, Nov. 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Gallery Reimagined. Presented by Gallery Reimagined in collaboration with the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET), STEM to Studio: Interconnection of Science and Art is a celebration of creative interpretationโ€”where artists engage deeply with scientific ideas to craft visual narratives that bridge disciplines and spark dialogue.

Dream Big Celebration, Saturday, Nov. 1, doors open at 12:30 p.m., event starts at 1 p.m., SNF Parkway Theatre. Watch the “2025 Dream Big Celebration,” filmed by Waasi Films. Plus, catch a performance by the Baltimore School for the Arts Jazz Ensemble, segments from Maryland Public Televisionโ€™s “Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom,” and more.

Billy Strings, Saturday, Nov. 1, doors open at 6:30 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Billy Strings is coming through Baltimore on his fall tour.

Chocolate Covered Rocky Horror, Saturday, Nov. 1, 8:30 p.m., Baltimore Center Stage. An African American Shadow-cast ensemble entitled โ€œChocolate Covered Rocky Horrorโ€ performs the beloved โ€œRocky Horror Picture Show.โ€ Enjoy a preshow, costume contest and audience particiโ€ฆpation.

Pumpkin Smash, Sunday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to noon, Maryland Science Center. Though Halloween has come and passed, your jack-o’-lantern can still have one last hurrah. Chuck your pumpkin off the science center’s roof and watch it splat down below.

Brandy and Monica, Sunday, Nov. 2, doors open at 6 p.m., event begins at 7 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Singers Brandy and Monica faced off in their iconic duet โ€œThe Boy Is Mineโ€ in 1998. More than 25 years later, the Grammy Award-winning artists are teaming up again as they embark on their “The Boy Is Mine Tour.” Along the tour, they will be joined by special guests, including Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and 2025 “American Idol” winner Jamal Roberts. Catch the action at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena.

Basketball Hall of Fame, Monday, Nov. 3, doors open at 5:30 p.m., event begins at 6:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Maryland men’s basketball is on full display in these Hall of Fame matchups. First, University of Maryland takes on Coppin State University at 6:30 p.m. Later, Towson University will face off against Loyola University Maryland at 9 p.m. Who are you rooting for?

Maryland Film Festival, Wednesday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 9, SNF Parkway Theatre. Featuring more than 150 films, the 2025 Maryland Film Fest promises five days of film, storytelling, music, art, food, parties, and connections.

ARTMS, Thursday, Nov. 6, doors open at 6 p.m., event starts at 7:30 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. South Korean girl group ARTMS is embarking on a world tour after releasing their first extended play, “Club Icarus,” earlier this year.

Urban Astronomy, Friday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Visit the science center’s observatory for a view of the stars over Baltimore.

Latte Art Throwdown, Friday, Nov. 7, 6 p.m., Hotel Revival’s ‘Dashery Cafe. Hotel Revival teams up with Baltimore Coffee Collective to host this competition showcasing Baltimore’s best baristas pouring creative designs, competing for prizes, and celebrating the artistry behind specialty coffee! Free to attend, $10 to enter.

Culinary Concepts โ€“ A Cocktail Party for a Cause, Friday, Nov. 7, 7โ€“10 p.m., the Concept House, Towson. Come to this unforgettable night of flavor and philanthropy at a truly unique venue to celebrate cocktails, cuisine, and community. The event supports Starboard Society, a local nonprofit providing emergency funding for families in need of help with food, bills, and rent payments.

The Phantom of the Opera, Nov. 7 through Nov. 15, Hippodrome Theatre. โ€œThe Phantom of the Operaโ€ is the longest running show in Broadway history and played its final performance on April 16, 2023. Now, itโ€™s embarking on its North American tour to share the story of the Phantom who lives below the Paris Opera House, and the soprano Christine, the subject of the Phantomโ€™s obsession.

Trouble in Mind, Nov. 7 through Nov. 30, Fells Point Corner Theatre. A Black actress long relegated to stereotypical supporting roles prepares to star in an anti-lynching play written by a white playwright on Broadway. But as the Black actors rehearse the play with a white director and stage manager, they face racial poltics and theatrical standards.

Elf, Nov. 7 through Jan. 4, Tobyโ€™s Dinner Theatre. Inspired by the holiday flick starring Will Ferrell, the โ€œElfโ€ musical follows Buddy, a young orphan grows up in the North Pole after climbing into Santaโ€™s bag of gifts one Christmas. In adulthood, Buddy travels to New York City in search of his birth father and his own identity. Along the way, he helps New Yorkers tap into the spirit of Christmas.

Maryland Irish Festival, Nov. 7 through Nov. 9, Maryland State Fairgrounds. Presented annually by Irish Charities of Maryland, this annual celebration of Irish culture features local, regional and international Irish music, Irish dancers, traditional cuisine, cultural exhibits and workshops, and a wide variety of vendors of Irish/Celtic goods.

Hoodstock, Friday, Nov. 7, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Industry. Enjoy live music from the โ€˜60s and โ€˜70s, food, drinks, dancing, raffles, and an updated silent auction at Unified Community Connections’ annual signature fundraiser.

Desi Banks, Saturday, Nov. 8, doors open at 6 p.m., event starts at 7 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Desi Banks is an actor, stand-up comedian, podcaster, and entrepreneur who has landed roles in various film and television projects, including “Little,” “Merry Wish- Mas,” “Love By Chance,” and “Haunted Trail.” Next, his comedy will bring him to Baltimore on “The Elevation Tour.”

The Second Saturday S#!T Show feat. Justin Schlegel, Saturday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m., Ottobar. Join host Mike Quindlen as he welcomes headliner Justin Schlegel of 98 Rock; featured comedians Sonny Etzler, Kevin Skiffington, Alejandro Labrada (โ€œMr. Yellow Shadesโ€), and Luke Harris; and special guest Chris Randolph to the stage.

Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp, Saturday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m., Gordon Center for Performing Arts. Join original stars of the landmark Broadway musical, RENT, as they bring their friendship and history together for a night of music, stories, and fun.

Week of Nov. 10 through Nov. 16

Different Words for Happiness (Script Tease Staged Reading Series), Monday, Nov. 10, doors 6 p.m., reading 7 p.m., Everyman Theatre. In her playwriting debut, Everyman Theatre Resident Company actor Katie Kleiger presents a fresh take on what it means to confront oneโ€™s past and redefine personal happiness.

Animal Architects, Monday, Nov. 10, through Friday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day, Maryland Zoo. During this hands-on design challenge, participants will use their problem-solving skills and learn how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) can be used to support wildlife conservation.

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Tuesday, Nov. 11, doors open at 6:30 p.m., event starts at 7:30 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Astrophysicist and author Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson has hosted numerous programs, such as “Nova ScienceNow,” “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey,” and “StarTalk.” He served on serve on the Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry and the President’s Commission on Implementation of United States Space Exploration Policy. NASA bestowed its highest civilian honor, the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, to Tyson. He also serves as the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York City.

Hot Water Music & Bane, Thursday, Nov. 13, doors 5:30 p.m., show 6:30 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Coheadliners Hot Water Music and Bane will stop by Baltimore Soundstage with special guests Spaced and The S.E.T.

Jim Gaffigan, Thursday, Nov. 13, through Saturday, Nov. 15, Lyric Baltimore. Comedian Jim Gaffigan will release his 11th stand-up special, “The Skinny,” on Nov. 22 on Hulu. Ahead of the special’s premiere, Gaffigan will perform in Baltimore for three nights as part of his “Everything is Wonderful Tour.”

Men’s Night Out, Friday, Nov. 14, 5:30 p.m., Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Join Associated Black Charities for an evening of brotherhood, mentorship, and empowerment, headlined by Baltimoreโ€™s own Dontae Winslow, an acclaimed musician, producer, and storyteller.

Bert Kreischer, Friday, Nov. 14, doors open at 6 p.m., event begins at 7 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer is bringing his “Permission to Party” comedy tour. The tour’s title is fitting for a guy whom Rolling Stone named “the top partyer at the Number One Party School in the country” in 1997 when he attended Florida State University.

Justin, Scott and Spiegel: A Very Uncensored Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 14, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Join Justin, Scott & Spiegel of 98 Rock for a night of comedy, chaos and everything you canโ€™t hear on the morning show.

Invent the Future, Saturday, Nov. 15, noon to 4 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Explore what the future could look like, such as becoming a robot, living on another planet or moon, and other possibilities.

Art with a Heart 2nd Annual Art Show, Sunday, Nov. 16, 2โ€“4 p.m., HeARTwares, Hampden. This art show will have a diverse range of mediums, from photography to paintings to ceramics and more. Art with a Heart is a nonprofit that enhances the lives of people in need using art for positive community change. In just the last year it’s provided nearly 16,000 art classes to kids, youth, adults, and families in vulnerable situations.

BSYO Season Opener Concert, Sunday, Nov. 16, 6:30 p.m., Joseph Myerhoff Symphony Hall. Help kick off the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras’ 2025-2026 season with an opening concert showcasing over 450 young musicians from across Maryland. Audiences will enjoy a blend of classical favorites and contemporary pieces celebrating the promise and passion of the next generation of musical talent.

Maroon 5, Sunday, Nov. 16, doors open at 6:30 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. In honor of their eighth studio album, “Love is Like,” the band Maroon 5 is touring the U.S., including Baltimore. The band will be joined on the tour by special guest Claire Rosinkranz

Week of Nov. 17 through Nov. 23

We C.A.R.E. Conference, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 8:30 a.m.โ€“5:30 p.m., Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis. This inaugural We C.A.R.E. conference is free and open to caregivers, families, community organizations, and anyone wanting a stronger, more inclusive caregiver community. The goal is to uplift, empower, and connect people with resources to strengthen support systems. Hosted by Laila’s Gift, a Maryland nonprofit that supports and celebrates children with special needs and disabilities and their families. Registration closes on Nov. 7.

Twilight in Concert, Wednesday, Nov. 19, doors open at 6:30 p.m., event starts at 7:30 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Watch the beginning of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s love story unfold, as rock and orchestral musicians perform the score from the 2008 “Twilight” film while the movie plays on screen.

Grown Up Field Trip in Space, Friday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Enjoy a cosmic cocktail, test pilot and sample pieces of the science center’s new “Space” exhibit, play party games, and more. This is event is for attendees aged 21 and older.

Bingo at the Zoo, Friday, Nov. 21, 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Play bingo and have a chance to score a prize-filled basket. Each basket is valued at a minimum of $100. A ticket gets you a 20-game bingo packet, two drink tickets (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and an opportunity to meet and greet the zoo’s animal ambassadors.

Holiday Train Garden, Nov. 22 through January 4, The Shops at Kenilworth. Stop by the lower level during all mall hours to see the annual Train Garden display.

Cheers to 30 Years: AVAMโ€™s Birthday Bash, Saturday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. Celebrate 30 years of visionary art with family-friendly festivities, including guided tours, art-making, birthday cake, artist meet-and-greets, and moreโ€”all included in the price of admission.

The Magic of Merryland, Saturday, Nov. 22, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Harbor East. Kick off the holiday season with live music, holiday treats, train rides, pet photos with Santa, and the second annual Merryland Tree lighting.

BRB (Baltimore Record Bazaar) Holiday Edition, Sunday, Nov. 23, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. This free, family-friendly event features live DJS, craft beer, Underground Pizza Co., and 33+ vendors with vinyl, tapes, CDs, stereos, books/comics, art, vintage, music memorabilia, and more.

Talib Kweli, Sunday, Nov. 23, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m, Baltimore Soundstage. Talib Kweli returns to Baltimore Soundstage with special guests MC Bravado and Nature Boi.

Week of Nov. 24 through Nov. 30

Dr. Seussโ€™ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, Nov. 26 through Nov. 30, Hippodrome Theatre. Your heart will likley grow three sizes after watching this musical version of Dr. Seussโ€™ โ€œHow the Grinch Stole Christmas,โ€ telling the tale of a Christmas-hating, furry, green Grinch who sets out to wreak havoc on the holiday โ€” only to learn some lessons along the way.

Santa Claus is Cominโ€™: A Motown Christmas Revue, Nov. 26 through Jan. 4, Baltimore Center Stage. Hear the classic holiday tunes with a Motown twist.

AVAM’s Bazaart Annual Holiday Craft Marketplace, Nov. 28, noonโ€“5 p.m., and Nov. 29, 10 a.m.โ€“5 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. Come to AVAM’s holiday marketplace of original creations by 50 regional artists and craftspeople. Admission is free to this one-of-a-kind show, with painting, sculpture, jewelry, handmade clothing, accessories, and more!

Festival of Trees, Nov. 28 through Nov. 30, Maryland State Fairgrounds. Featuring hundreds of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses, a massive vendor marketplace, rides, games, crafts, live entertainment and holiday magic galore, this three-day holiday celebration benefits the patients, students and programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute. 

Hunt Valley Towne Centre Tree Lighting, Friday, Nov. 28, Hunt Valley Towne Centre. This year’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature live performances, a special message from Santa, and complimentary hot chocolate (while supplies last).

Holly Days, Friday, Nov. 28, through Sunday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Make a reindeer ornament at the kids craft station, listen to a story read by Mrs. Claus, snap some holiday photos with Santaโ€™s friends, and more. The Holly Days events kick off Nov. 28 and will continue through Dec. 28.

A Christmas Carol, Nov. 29 through Dec. 23, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. Charles Dickensโ€™ holiday classic comes to life in this production set in 19th-century Baltimore.

Holiday Train Garden & Photos with Santa, Saturday, Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fire Museum of Maryland. Snap a selfie with Santa, and watch as O-scale trains wind through a 20th-century town. 

Foundry Row Tree Lighting, Saturday, Nov. 29, 6 p.m., Foundry Row. Join Foundry Row for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring live performances, complimentary hot chocolate (while supplies last), and a special message from Santa.

Deceived, Nov. 30 through Jan. 4, Everyman Theatre. A woman questions her relationships and even her own sanity when she starts seeing and hearing things that arenโ€™t there. โ€œDeceivedโ€ is an adaptation of the 1944 psychological thriller film โ€œGaslight.โ€
