Maryland providers have administered a total of 908,979 coronavirus vaccine doses as of Wednesday morning, representing about 7.5% of the doses needed to fully vaccinate every Marylander.

Of the doses that have been administered so far, 655,277 have been first doses and 253,702 have been second doses.

In the past 24 hours, 5,745 Marylanders have received their first dose of the vaccine and 9,374 people have received their second dose.

Nearly 11% of Maryland’s approximately 6,040,000 residents have received at least the first dose, and about 4% of the state’s population has received their second dose.

At least 372,980 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 2,938,416 have tested negative as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

Maryland officials on Wednesday reported 759 newly confirmed cases of coronavirus, an increase of 0.2%.

The state has completed 7,519,063 coronavirus tests to date, with 23,159 test results reported in the past 24 hours.

An average of 4.17% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days have come back positive.

The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 4.19% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 4.18% for Marylanders older than 35.

Currently, 1,096 Marylanders are hospitalized with COVID-19, including 824 in acute care and 272 in intensive care.

The number of acute care patients rose by seven while the number of intensive care patients fell by 21, marking a net decrease of 14 fewer people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Tuesday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Maryland has hospitalized a total of 34,078 coronavirus patients.

A total of 7,449 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with 19 additional deaths reported since Tuesday. There are also 181 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, there have been 71,402 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 61,942 in Montgomery County; 49,653 in Baltimore County; 39,560 in Baltimore City; 34,721 in Anne Arundel County; 16,511 in Frederick County; 15,384 in Howard County; 12,136 in Washington County; 12,129 in Harford County; 8,626 in Charles County; 7,364 in Carroll County; 6,641 in Wicomico County; 6,369 in Allegany County; 4,964 in Cecil County; 4,936 in St. Mary’s County; 3,591 in Calvert County; 3,203 in Worcester County; 2,504 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,351 in Somerset County; 2,253 in Dorchester County; 2,001 in Caroline County; 1,831 in Garrett County; 1,811 in Talbot County; and 1,097 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.

Maryland has confirmed 18,437 cases in people age 9 or younger; 35,423 in people ages 10-19; 67,640 in people ages 20-29; 64,243 in people ages 30-39; 56,728 in people ages 40-49; 56,314 in people ages 50-59; 38,085 in people ages 60-69; 21,693 in people ages 70-79; and 14,417 in people age 80 or older.

The state has identified 195,400 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 177,580 as male.

Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 106,360 are Black, 60,448 are Hispanic, 128,441 are white, 8,340 are Asian, 17,497 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 51,894.

Nationwide, there have been at least 27,757,609 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 488,103 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 333.6 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
