
Nearly a year after Maryland confirmed its first cases of coronavirus, state officials on Monday reported another 603 cases and 10 more deaths.
At least 382,702 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,003,717 have tested negative as of Monday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
A total of 7,697 Marylanders have died from coronavirus, and another 182 deaths are suspected to be related to the virus.
Maryland’s current coronavirus-related hospitalizations climbed by 36 patients, with 41 more people in acute care and five fewer people in intensive care.
Of the 904 Marylanders currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 669 are in acute care and 235 are in intensive care.
Maryland has hospitalized a total of 35,069 coronavirus patients since the pandemic began.
The state has completed 7,906,291 coronavirus tests to date, with 19,263 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
On average, 3.52% of Maryland’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 4.07% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 3.17% for Marylanders older than 35.
The state has distributed the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine to a total of 858,577 Marylanders, including 15,781 who received it in the past 24 hours.
Of the Maryland recipients of the first vaccine dose, 474,011 individuals have received the second vaccine dose, including 9,863 people in the past 24 hours.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 73,413 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 63,395 in Montgomery County; 50,972 in Baltimore County; 40,474 in Baltimore City; 35,772 in Anne Arundel County; 16,969 in Frederick County; 15,827 in Howard County; 12,515 in Harford County; 12,417 in Washington County; 8,921 in Charles County; 7,548 in Carroll County; 6,779 in Wicomico County; 6,408 in Allegany County; 5,123 in St. Mary’s County; 5,023 in Cecil County; 3,661 in Calvert County; 3,266 in Worcester County; 2,577 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,390 in Somerset County; 2,348 in Dorchester County; 2,049 in Caroline County; 1,886 in Talbot County; 1,844 in Garrett County; and 1,125 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 19,074 are people age 9 or younger; 36,736 are people ages 10-19; 69,548 are people ages 20-29; 65,718 are people ages 30-39; 57,995 are people ages 40-49; 57,707 are people ages 50-59; 39,070 are people ages 60-69; 22,185 are people ages 70-79; and 14,669 are people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 200,226 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 182,476 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 109,768 are Black, 61,587 are Hispanic, 132,315 are white, 8,642 are Asian, 17,950 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,440.
Nationwide, there have been at least 28,606,340 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 513,092 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 350.6 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Monday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
