Maryland’s coronavirus-related hospitalizations jumped by 29, with 344 residents currently hospitalized on Tuesday, state data show.

Of those current hospitalizations, 265 of the state’s patients are in acute care and 79 are in intensive care.

The number of acute care patients climbed by 32 while the number of intensive care patients declined by three.

Since the pandemic began, Maryland has hospitalized a total of 15,460 people with COVID-19.

At least 124,311 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 1,485,999 have tested negative as of Tuesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

The state’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 431, an increase of 0.3 percent.

Maryland has completed 2,588,690 coronavirus tests to date, with 15,083 test results reported in the past 24 hours.

On average, 2.59 percent of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days have come back positive.

The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 3.37 percent for Marylanders younger than 35 and 2.16 percent for Marylanders older than 35.

Maryland reported nine additional deaths tied to COVID-19 since Monday, bringing the total number of fatal cases to 3,802. There are also 144 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, there have been 29,416 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 22,512 in Montgomery County; 17,939 in Baltimore County; 15,606 in Baltimore City; 10,073 in Anne Arundel County; 5,098 in Howard County; 4,073 in Frederick County; 3,045 in Harford County; 2,779 in Charles County; 1,998 in Wicomico County; 1,957 in Carroll County; 1,811 in Washington County; 1,306 in St. Mary’s County; 1,079 in Cecil County; 1,053 in Worcester County; 961 in Calvert County; 666 in Queen Anne’s County; 654 in Caroline County; 594 in Dorchester County; 565 in Talbot County; 473 in Allegany County; 303 in Kent County; 276 in Somerset County; and 74 in Garrett County, according to the dashboard.

Of the state’s confirmed COVID-19 cases, 4,635 have been people age 9 or younger; 10,483 have been people ages 10-19; 23,471 have been people ages 20-29; 22,484 have been people ages 30-39; 19,865 have been people ages 40-49; 18,153 have been people ages 50-59; 12,137 have been people ages 60-69; 7,231 have been people ages 70-79; and 5,852 have been people age 80 or older.

Maryland has identified 65,662 of the confirmed coronavirus patients as female and 58,649 as male.

Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 39,382 have been Black, 26,902 have been Hispanic, 31,172 have been white, 2,354 have been Asian, 5,705 have been another race, and data is not available for the remaining 18,796.

Nationwide, there have been at least 7,150,824 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 205,107 deaths and 2,794,608 recoveries. More than 102.3 million people in the U.S. have been tested for COVID-19 as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
