
There are now 338 Marylanders hospitalized due to coronavirus, an increase of 18 patients, according to data released by the state today.
Of those currently hospitalized, 253 are in acute care and 85 are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients climbed by 10 while the number of intensive care patients rose by eight.
Maryland has hospitalized a total of 15,745 people with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
At least 127,791 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 1,540,526 have tested negative as of Monday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload climbed by 501, an increase of 0.4 percent.
The state reported 19,570 more test results in the past 24 hours, bringing the state’s total number of completed coronavirus tests to 2,734,800.
An average of 3.02 percent of the state’s coronavirus tests over the last seven days have come back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 3.82 percent for Marylanders younger than 35 and 2.56 percent for Marylanders older than 35.
The state reported the deaths of three more Marylanders related to coronavirus, bringing the total number of fatal cases in the state to 3,817. There are also 144 people whose deaths are suspected to be tied to the virus.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 30,088 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 23,079 in Montgomery County; 18,409 in Baltimore County; 16,023 in Baltimore City; 10,429 in Anne Arundel County; 5,262 in Howard County; 4,219 in Frederick County; 3,148 in Harford County; 2,860 in Charles County; 2,100 in Wicomico County; 2,008 in Carroll County; 1,862 in Washington County; 1,348 in St. Mary’s County; 1,125 in Cecil County; 1,091 in Worcester County; 1,009 in Calvert County; 682 in Queen Anne’s County; 664 in Caroline County; 615 in Dorchester County; 579 in Talbot County; 495 in Allegany County; 311 in Somerset County; 309 in Kent County; 76 in Garrett County, according to the dashboard.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 4,813 are people age 9 or younger; 10,981 are people ages 10-19; 24,196 are people ages 20-29; 23,012 are people ages 30-39; 20,351 are people ages 40-49; 18,606 are people ages 50-59; 12,471 are people ages 60-69; 7,424 are people ages 70-79; and 5,937 are people age 80 or older.
The state has identified 67,421 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 60,370 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 40,250 are Black, 27,404 are Hispanic, 32,480 are white, 2,412 are Asian, 5,891 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 19,354.
Nationwide, there have been at least 7,419,594 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 209,737 deaths and 2,911,699 recoveries. More than 107.8 million people in the U.S. have been tested for COVID-19 as of 10 a.m. Monday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
