Baltimoreans apparently need more Jim Gaffigan in their lives. The Modell Performing Arts Center today announced a second show for the stand-up comic and actor on Feb. 8, 2019, as part of the Quality Time Tour.

The set is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. An earlier set, at 7 p.m. that same day, has sold briskly. Tickets for the newly added show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Touring in support of his 11th album, “Noble Ape,” Gaffigan, in addition to taking down Big Hot Pocket, has acted in modern TV hits such as “Portlandia, “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Flight of the Concords.”

And he’s been taking on a lot more film roles this year. According to a release from the Lyric, Gaffigan has 13 movies that have been released or kicked off production, a range that includes the dramatization “Chappaquiddick” and the comedy sequel “Super Troopers 2.”

And to think, one of his earliest acting breaks was as a pitchman for the Maryland Lottery.
