Mr. Monopoly holds a game card with a railroad
Mr. Monopoly visits the original B&O Railroad Museum!

Get ready to roll the dice, because Mr. Monopoly will officially unveil MONOPOLY: Baltimore Edition next week.

The unveiling will take place at an event with local officials and business leaders on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at Power Plant Live!

This game is the only licensed version in Maryland, introduced by Top Trumps USA (no relation to the current U.S. president), under license by the toy company Hasbro. In 2025, Monopoly turned 90 years old, which makes iconic board game older than the ballpoint pen (1938), silly putty (1943), and the Frisbee (1948).

The Baltimore version of the beloved game was announced in February 2025, with Mr. Monopoly himself seeking public input as to what the playing board would look like. The final version replaces the perennial gameโ€™s squares (from Boardwalk to Park Place) with Baltimore cultural sites, historic landmarks, charitable organizations, and businesses. The familiar Community Chest and Chance playing cards remain but will be customized to pay tribute to Baltimoreโ€™s history and cultural significance.

โ€œThe Baltimore edition is a love letter to Baltimore. We are so appreciative of everyone who suggested landmarks, organizations and businesses to make this Baltimore edition unique and truly special,โ€ said Tim Barney, a Top Trumps USA representative, in a statement. โ€œThe enthusiasm from the public and, in turn, those establishments who raced for an opportunity for a place on the board, are what makes this experience fun. We canโ€™t wait to unveil who solidified their spot on the board.โ€

Expect to find MONOPOLY: Baltimore Edition in stores and online at retail partners, including Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Power Plant Live!, Royal Farms, the Maryland Zoo, Baltimore in a Box, Attmanโ€™s Delicatessen, Miss Shirleyโ€™s, Ekiben, B&O Railroad Museum, Lord Baltimore Hotel, Maryland Center for History and Culture, Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum, Carroll Mansion, Calvert Hall, and McDonogh School.

Everyone is invited to the unveiling, where the board will be displayed for the very first time, starting at 7 p.m. After brief remarks, enjoy live music from Liquid A on the main stage, food and drink specials, and a host of activities. Enjoy country line dancing and mechanical bull riding in PBR. Dance to a high-energy set by EMFORCE in the Mosaic Ultra Lounge. Try your hand (and vocals) at karaoke in Luckies Fabulous Tavern or get your Halloween pre-scaries going at a Joker-inspired Halloween pop-up bar, โ€œWhy So Serious?โ€ located in Luckies Liquors.

Power Plant Live! is located at 34 Market Place in Baltimore.
