
More than 900,000 Marylanders have received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, as of Wednesday morning.
A total of 900,458 Marylanders have received their first vaccine dose and another 494,267 have received their second dose.
In the past 24 hours, Maryland providers administered first doses to 21,965 residents and second doses to 10,002 residents.
At least 383,956 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,012,179 have tested negative as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload rose by 786, an increase of about 0.21%.
The has completed 7,948,627 coronavirus tests to date, with 31,298 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
Over the last seven days, an average of 3.28% of the state’s COVID-19 tests have come back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 3.64% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 3.04% for Marylanders older than 35.
Maryland officials on Wednesday reported 14 additional deaths related to coronavirus, raising the number of Marylanders who have been confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to 7,737. There are also 182 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
Currently, 863 Marylanders are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 635 of those people in acute care and 228 people in intensive care.
The state’s number of current coronavirus-related hospitalizations continued to decrease on Wednesday. Hospitalizations declined by 33 patients, with 29 fewer people in acute care and four fewer people in intensive care.
Since the pandemic began nearly one year ago, Maryland has hospitalized a total of 35,223 people with COVID-19.
As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, there have been 73,685 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 63,595 in Montgomery County; 51,183 in Baltimore County; 40,540 in Baltimore City; 35,963 in Anne Arundel County; 17,035 in Frederick County; 15,868 in Howard County; 12,567 in Harford County; 12,448 in Washington County; 8,963 in Charles County; 7,569 in Carroll County; 6,790 in Wicomico County; 6,409 in Allegany County; 5,132 in St. Mary’s County; 5,027 in Cecil County; 3,668 in Calvert County; 3,270 in Worcester County; 2,582 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,393 in Somerset County; 2,354 in Dorchester County; 2,050 in Caroline County; 1,893 in Talbot County; 1,844 in Garrett County; and 1,128 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 19,159 are people age 9 or younger; 36,901 are people ages 10-19; 69,782 are people ages 20-29; 65,937 are people ages 30-39; 58,148 are people ages 40-49; 57,893 are people ages 50-59; 39,193 are people ages 60-69; 22,249 are people ages 70-79; and 14,694 are people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 200,843 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 183,113 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 110,215 are Black, 61,746 are Hispanic, 132,787 are white, 8,706 are Asian, 17,998 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,504.
Nationwide, there have been at least 28,720,113 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 516,625 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 353.1 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
