
A total of 832,551 Marylanders, or nearly 14% of the state’s population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Thursday morning with either a single-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine.
Of the two-dose vaccines, Maryland has administered a total of 1,526,126 first doses and 771,942 second doses.
In the past 24 hours, providers have administered 37,873 first doses and 15,252 second doses.
Maryland providers have also administered single-dose vaccines to a total of 60,609 people, including 1,144 doses that were administered in the past 24 hours.
State officials on Thursday confirmed 1,382 new coronavirus cases, increasing Maryland’s COVID-19 caseload by 0.34%.
At least 403,982 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,136,727 have tested negative as of Thursday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland has completed 8,591,384 coronavirus tests to date, with 41,053 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
Over the last seven days, an average of 4.59% of the state’s COVID-19 tests have come back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 4.85% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 4.39% for Marylanders older than 35.
A total of 8,032 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with three additional deaths reported since Wednesday. There are also 185 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
There are currently 919 Marylanders hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 696 who are in acute care and 223 who are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients rose by five while the number of intensive care patients declined by one, marking a net increase of four more people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Wednesday.
Maryland has hospitalized a total of 37,126 people due to coronavirus to date.
As of 10 a.m. Thursday, there have been 76,950 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 65,986 in Montgomery County; 54,484 in Baltimore County; 43,351 in Baltimore City; 38,186 in Anne Arundel County; 17,893 in Frederick County; 16,915 in Howard County; 13,550 in Harford County; 12,998 in Washington County; 9,556 in Charles County; 8,063 in Carroll County; 7,015 in Wicomico County; 6,476 in Allegany County; 5,361 in St. Mary’s County; 5,277 in Cecil County; 3,855 in Calvert County; 3,331 in Worcester County; 2,679 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,465 in Somerset County; 2,449 in Dorchester County; 2,092 in Caroline County; 1,943 in Talbot County; 1,893 in Garrett County; and 1,214 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 118,329 are Black, 63,948 are Hispanic, 141,113 are white, 9,487 are Asian, 19,096 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,009.
Maryland has confirmed 20,674 cases in people age 9 or younger; 39,518 in people ages 10-19; 73,714 in people ages 20-29; 69,228 in people ages 30-39; 60,911 in people ages 40-49; 60,779 in people ages 50-59; 41,043 in people ages 60-69; 23,061 in people ages 70-79; and 15,054 in people age 80 or older.
The state has identified 211,044 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 192,938 as male.
Nationwide, there have been at least 30,012,351 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 545,282 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 385.8 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Thursday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
