Harmony. Greater enlightenment. Meditation. Feeling better. The practice of yoga improves more than the physical you; it helps your body, mind, and spirit live more in the present.
Now, in addition to offering yoga classes as part of their Life Enrichment program, CCBC Continuing Education is adding Yoga Teacher Training. This Yoga Alliance Certified program offers a great way to start a new career and share a love of yoga with others.
A comprehensive, 200-hour course series, this program presents instruction in the art and science of yoga, philosophy, and teaching methodology.
Yoga Teacher Training at CCBC includes instruction on how to make clear observations of body form and postures and how to implement corrective measures to improve skills in order to avoid injuries.
CEUs are also available and an internship, plus assisting hours, are included in this training. Assisting is one great way to gain hands-on experience while continuing to learn from a veteran teacher. These additions are not always available with a certification course, but CCBC understands the importance of these extra benefits to the total teacher-training program. Employment opportunities are also available for those who become certified.
To help with program costs, there is a payment plan as well as scholarship/grant opportunities for those who qualify.
Start on the road to your new career as a yoga instructor. If you have been practicing yoga and now want to share the joy and spiritual fulfilment, contact 443-840-4700 or visit ccbcmd.edu/wellness to enroll.
