Sad news for the Maryland music community, and beyond. Jeff Kaplan, a sound engineer who worked with numerous music acts like Snoop Dogg and Hopkins professor Thomas Dolby, died after being hit by a car on Route 50 in Annapolis early Wednesday morning, according to Alternative Press.
Kaplan, 43, lost control of his Subaru, and hit the median. He got out of the car, and was then struck by an SUV, according to the Capital Gazette.
The Annapolis resident most recently worked as a sound engineer and tour manager with Florida-based band, A Day to Remember. AP relays that he also worked with G. Love and Special Sauce, Michelle Branch and Head Automatica, among others.
A memorial fund was established to benefit Kaplan’s daughter.
