That burning car smell blanketed East Baltimore on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Baltimore Fire Department, the source of the burning was traced to Eastside Auto Recycling Junkyard on Erdman Ave. Officials estimate between 80 and 100 cars caught on fire around 3 p.m.

No one was hurt in the fire. Heavy winds spread the smoke, and officials worried that the flames would spread to the building next door.
The cause remains under investigation.
