Hi hi hi! I’m a fun, energetic, and friendly fella looking for new home before the holidays. I should probably attend obedience training since I’m kinda goofy at the moment. So if you need an active companion to bring a little excitement to your home, come visit me at the Maryland SPCA adoption center today.
Also, some good news: Last weekend, our 500th pet was adopted from Project Adopt at White Marsh Mall. Project Adopt is the Maryland SPCA’s satellite adoption center. In addition to this milestone, we’re coming up on our one-year-anniversary since Project Adopt opened.
To celebrate this milestone and to celebrate our up-coming one-year-anniversary, we are honoring adopters with a special reception on Saturday, November 22nd.
The 1st adopters and their cat Lucy will be attending and will be presented a new collar with a Pet ID tag that says “I was the 1st adoption at Project Adopt.” The 500th adopters and their kitten, Jaimie Lynn, will be attending and will be presented with a new collar that says “I was the 500th adoption at Project Adopt.”
All other adopters from Project Adopt have been invited to attend (without pets) and will be thanked during ceremony. Refreshments will be served immediately following.
To continue to celebrate these two milestones, the MD SPCA will be waiving adoption fees for cats and reducing adoption fees for kittens at Project Adopt on Friday, November 21, Saturday, November 22, and Sunday November 23.
When: Saturday, November 22 at 10 a.m.
Where: White Marsh Mall, Upper Level next to JC Penney. (8200 Perry Hall Blvd. Nottingham, MD)
As of 10 p.m. last night the fundraiser had received an impressive $205,499, surpassing their $200,000 goal quite nicely — according to the event website. We’ll update as the tally is finalized. Keep in mind it’s never too late to donate to the MDSPCA, the independent organization that receives no government funding, yet adopts out more than 3,000 unwanted pets each year. The MDSPCA also educates the community to reduce pet abandonment, offering behavior counseling and training and affordable spay/neuter services. Miss the activity-packed Druid Hill event this year? Take a quick photo tour below. And consider registering next spring to walk the lovely 1.5-mile loop that affords Maryland’s dogs and cats in need a — sorry, I can’t resist — new leash on life.
