Johns Hopkins Continues to Work to Make Its Campus Artsier

We were happy to hear about the new (huge!) Willem de Kooning sculpture that arrived at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus earlier this fall; but just one piece of public art by a famous artist wasn’t enough for Hopkins. Last week, a huge (35-foot!) metal sculpture was installed on the campus. It’s called Red Sails, it’s by American sculptor John Henry, and it looks amazing.

Meet Johns Hopkins’ newest (and hotly anticipated) resident: she’s 5’7″, born in 1969, likes lying down — oh, did I mention that she’s also a bronze sculptor by famed Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning?
